I’ve had a dabble with jquery in the past and I do rather like it. I find it logical and straight forward to use and I was keen to learn it further. Once upon a blue moon my portfolio wasn’t a wordpress site. I kept the original files for it and decided to set myself a challenge to revamp my old portfolio with some funky jquery techniques. Twas a very rewarding process and I’ve published the results on here for you to have a goggle at. I plan to do a bit more work with jquery in the not so distant future, perhaps working with it and some php. Here’s my ‘jqueried’ old portfolio.

I was lucky enough to have a chance to show off my flash skills at the latest Meetdraw. Meetdraw is a regular evening that brings together designers and developers to share their passion of all things digital. The latest outing ‘So Meety’ had a bingo theme. Every guest was given a badge on the way in of an animal. Every half an hour a game of bingo commenced where four different animals would be drawn. The guests had to form a ‘herd’ in order to win a free drink.
So my job was to produce an animation to generate the balls. Check out my crude creation here.

Heres a fly physics engine I quickly mocked up for a little project I’m working on. You can add flies, subtract flies and change their swarming pattern.

Find me on Elance, a great little site where I’m getting a lot of freelance work at the moment. A lot of which is work writing articles, both original pieces and content spinning. So if you’re in need of some content writing up then feel free to look me as I’ve had excellent feedback from the jobs I’ve done so far.

I played a pivotal role in the development of ‘Pub Pong’, which was released into the Apple App Store late 2009. The game compromises a ‘Pong’ style with the bats replaced for hands and the ball replaced by drinks moving around a bar. My role in the project involved all the design work as well as the core engine of the game. It shows skills in the following areas:
Pub Pong can be found here in the App Store.

Flash Webcam Game
I played an active role as part of the team who developed this project. Upload Festival is an online web cam based dance game and it reached 51 in Web Designer Magazine’s ‘Hot Sites to look out for in 2009′. The site is now unfortunately unavailable but check out footage of the game by clicking on the link below.

‘Tabloid Me’ is a flash application that takes your picture and then allows you to write a newspaper article. An image is created and then you can send the article to your friends. The application is embedded in the website here. This is a Wordpress site which I manipulated and themed for the company. This was possible due to a good knowledge of HTML & CSS as well as basic PHP. The application ‘Tabloid Me’ also demonstrates my ability to integrate Actionscript and PHP.

Quite a mouthful, duly noted. Inspector Crunch is a point and click flash game I developed in my final year at university. It cemented my knowledge of Actionscript, Flash and Object Orientated Programming and made it my strongest skill in media development. The game follows the story of Inspector Crunch a crocodile detective and his endeavour to solve the mystery of disappearing hotel guests in the area of ‘Animaltopia’.
The point and click nature of the game required a good knowledge of object orientated programming so this was the greatest learning curve in this project. This knowledge was invaluable in later work. Also the game included audible dialogue and overcoming the challenge of recording and editing good sound for the project. This proved important in later work such as podcast recording and iPhone game development. The domain holding the game is still available and can be found here. It also shows some basic php knowledge, providing a comments page for visitors to the site.
