I’ve had a dabble with jquery in the past and I do rather like it. I find it logical and straight forward to use and I was keen to learn it further. Once upon a blue moon my portfolio wasn’t a wordpress site. I kept the original files for it and decided to set myself a challenge to revamp my old portfolio with some funky jquery techniques. Twas a very rewarding process and I’ve published the results on here for you to have a goggle at. I plan to do a bit more work with jquery in the not so distant future, perhaps working with it and some php. Here’s my ‘jqueried’ old portfolio.

Easter was a family affair! The current trend within our extensive family are seasonal e-cards. Relatives sending them left, right and centre. So I says to my Mum, I says “Mother! I could custom build one of these bad boys before the 3 O’Clock football games are out! A mere two hours is all it’d need.” (Twas a Saturday). Thus the challenge was set to put together a custom easter card in two hours. And this is the farce I came up with. Sincerest apologies for the lack of preloader, I assure you the animation is there!

I was lucky enough to have a chance to show off my flash skills at the latest Meetdraw. Meetdraw is a regular evening that brings together designers and developers to share their passion of all things digital. The latest outing ‘So Meety’ had a bingo theme. Every guest was given a badge on the way in of an animal. Every half an hour a game of bingo commenced where four different animals would be drawn. The guests had to form a ‘herd’ in order to win a free drink.
So my job was to produce an animation to generate the balls. Check out my crude creation here.

Heres a fly physics engine I quickly mocked up for a little project I’m working on. You can add flies, subtract flies and change their swarming pattern.

I look back at a post of not long ago and see my celebration of passing the 200+ subscriber mark. Now 7BitArcade is in quadruple figures and the subscriber count is rising rapidly. Its more than exciting and every episode I feel the show gets stronger and stronger. When we hit 10,000 its champagne time.
OMGWOWHI and welcome to another episode of the famous 7 Bit Arcade. In this board game special, we recruit the help of board game connoiseur Christopher Boakes who shares his wry view on how video game could be turned into fully fledged board games. We wonder how the moderator on xbox live gets away with banning people, Stevie rants again and among other things, this podcast see’s the return of Eden who ignites proceedings with his dry banter and almost chaos inducing comments. All the usual features are in the bag as is the now famous ramble time, which includes Australia, Motion Control, Banning, Milo, Wrestling, Mass Effect 2, and more.

Its the fourth episode of the 7Bit saga and this time its business. Marvel as we manage to go 12 whole minutes without lowering the tone. We solve the problem of the infamous red ring and dispute whether monkeys prefer flags or bananas. In a new feature, Spanjj reviews a game live on the show and we ramble about iPads and map exploring. Eden’s absence causes the abuse to be fired in all directions in this manageable chunk of audio joy. Topics include: Burnout Paradise, Susan Boyle, Split Second, Microsoft Points, Gerbil Physics, New York, Fuzzies, Ticks, I Dig It, Breasts, MAG, Tumbleweed, Heavy Rain, iPads, AVP, Apocalyptos, Bayonetta, Vienetta, Bioshock 2, Milo and Sonic 4.

Find me on Elance, a great little site where I’m getting a lot of freelance work at the moment. A lot of which is work writing articles, both original pieces and content spinning. So if you’re in need of some content writing up then feel free to look me as I’ve had excellent feedback from the jobs I’ve done so far.
